Beekman 19-year-old killed in Pawling car-motorcycle crash

A 19-year-old has died as a result of a car-motorcycle crash in the Town of Pawling.

On May 4, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office reported the investigation into the crash, which occurred on April 27 at 8:15 a.m.

Beekman 19-year-old Kayden Kabashi was operating a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle driving eastbound on state Route 55 when his vehicle struck a 2003 Honda SUV at the intersection with state Route 292.

The sheriff’s office did not say in what direction the SUV was traveling.

Kabashi was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. He died on May 1.

The people in the Honda SUV — authorities did not disclose how many people were in the vehicle — were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation, continued by members of the Sheriff's Office's Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit.

According to the Sheriff's Office, more information may be released in the future as it becomes available.
